(5) Foundation Program
Prepare for your college study in a dynamic, supportive environment. JSU offers non-credit pre-university courses, and are designed as refresher courses for students who need improvement in the subjects considered essential for related first-year courses at JSU. In the end of the course, students who wish to take bachelor degree courses at JSU will have to apply for “Admission Entrance Exam for Overseas Students”. Students who score well in this exam will be admitted to the next intake for bachelor degree students.
Subject: Math, English, Physics and Chemistry
Students pursuing Management and Economics directions shall undertake Math and English.
Students pursuing Engineering and Medicine Directions shall undertake Math, English, Physics and Chemistry.
4. Application Documents
- Passport photo
- Copy of passport
- Copy of final degree (Notarized English translation if it is neither in Chinese nor English language)
- Copy of final degree transcript (Notarized English translation if it is neither in Chinese nor English language, PhD applicants shall provide both master and bachelor transcripts)
- English language proficiency certificate (minimum IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) for English medium programs
- Chinese language proficiency certificate (HSK-5 for Chinese Language master, HSK-4 for others) for Chinese medium programs
- Family financial statement (bank deposit equivalent to CNY 40,000 for postgraduates, CNY 30,000 for undergraduates. The bank deposit proof shall be issued within 2 months. The bank account holder shall be consistent with the financial supporter filled, who is a direct relative or immediate family member)
- Research proposal (Master and Ph.D. only)
- 2 recommendation letters (Master and Ph.D. only) from professor or associate professor
- Non-criminal Record Certificate
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form
5. Application Procedures
STEP 1: Apply through JSU “Online Application System"http://admission.ujs.edu.cn.Register your account and activate it
STEP 2: Fill out the application and upload all required documents
STEP 3: Submit the application and note your application number
STEP 4: Pay application fee of CNY 200 (non-refundable)
STEP 5: Receive your admission notice through the application portal if accepted
STEP 6: Pay seat reservation fees (non-refundable) before the due date

8. Other Important Reminders
(1) According to JSU rules, freshmen MUST live on campus after registration. Freshmen will rent apartment off-campus without university permission shall bear the consequential economic losses
(2) Freshmen MUST take a physical exam in Zhenjiang city upon registration as requested by the university
(3) Freshmen shall bring all original documents for verification after on-site. Freshmen who fail to provide authentic, valid and consistent documents will be refused on-site registration
(4) Application fee is CNY 200 for all foundation, bachelor, master, and doctoral applicants. Remember application fee is not refundable regardless of the admission result
